For addresses within Greater Melbourne, our delivery parameters are calculated from Melbourne CBD – with costings as follows:
- addresses within 10km of the CBD incur $7 for delivery
- addresses between 10km – 30km of the CBD incur $12 for delivery
- addresses 30km or more from the CBD incur between $18.50 - $26.50 for delivery
We do, therefore, deliver to addresses outside Greater Melbourne but if you are unable to get a delivery quote by entering your postcode into our shopping cart, please email us directly as we are able to service an increasing number of regional areas as well.
See our Delivery Page for more information!
What about deliveries outside Victoria?
Unfortunately we do not deliver to addresses outside Victoria (Australia) at this stage. For the moment we are focussing on growing our business in Melbourne, but we may look to expand to other major cities in the future!
If you would like to subscribe to our newsletter, we can keep you up to date while we grow!
Does Saucery have a Minimum Order?
Yes, our minimum order is $50 – however if you want to order a smaller quantity, you could look to see if our UberEATS deliveries are available in your area (usually within 5km of our Malvern store).
Can I collect my order from your Malvern Store?
Yes! We offer pick up from our Malvern Store as a checkout option at www.saucery.com Alternatively, we carry stock of all meals and treats, so you can always pop in and purchase our meals in store.
When will I receive my order?
Orders placed with us before 3pm Monday to Thursday will be delivered the following day. For deliveries outside 30km from the CBD, however, there may be additional time required for delivery, but we will let you know once your order is placed. Please email us if you’d like more information about delivery times to your address.
If you live within 5km of our Malvern store and would like your order sooner, we can deliver a selection of fresh and heated meals via UberEATS!
Do I need to be home to take delivery of my order?
No – you don’t need to be home if you have a safe, dry place for us to leave your order at your address, ideally out of sight of the street. Our meals are delivered in boxes lined with wool cool liners and ice packs to keep the food safe for up to a few hours, depending on the weather.
I’m coeliac - is everything at Saucery really gluten, dairy and sugar free?
Yes! We do not process gluten, dairy or cane sugar in our kitchen at all, in fact we don’t allow these allergens into any part of our building (not even in our staff lunches!)
Can Saucery cater for my dietary requirements?
Whilst we cannot cater for every different dietary requirement, we do cater for most people, but we encourage you to read our ingredients lists to decide for yourself.
We list the relevant dietary facts at the top of all of our product listings, such as on our Lentil Soup which is Vegan, Gluten, Dairy, Sugar and Vegetable oil free.
What you can be assured of is that we never add any cane sugar, agave, honey or maple to our products. We are also gluten, dairy and vegetable oil-free, cooking our foods with either olive oil or coconut oil. We oven-bake our chips instead of deep-frying them. We select meats that are all high welfare, grass-fed, free range and almost all our other ingredients are organic. Every component is thoughtfully chosen right down to the pink salt, in the best interest of your health.
We take every care to avoid cross contamination in our kitchen, but if you have food intolerances, it is important for you to know that we do process fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, sesame seeds, eggs and soy, so there may be traces of these allergens throughout our kitchen. We do not however process gluten, dairy or cane sugar, in fact we don’t allow these allergens into any part of our building (not even in our staff lunches!)
I have food intolerances - how does Saucery handle cross contamination?
We take every care to avoid cross contamination in our kitchen, but if you have food intolerances, it is important for you to know that we do process fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, sesame seeds, eggs and soy, so there may be traces of these allergens throughout our kitchen. How can I see Nutritional Information about Saucery products?
All of our products are listed on the website with ingredients as well as Nutritional Information Panels for each individual product option. For example, our Green Curry with Chickpeas lists the ingredients and Nutrition Panels for the three different product options: Sauce Only, Meal with Basmati Rice AND Meal with Cauliflower Rice.
Products sold in store have packaging which clearly states this information along with total percentage of naturally ocurring sugars, carbohydrates and calories for each product variant.
Meals supplied as Sauce Only (for two) vs Meal with Base (for one)
Our take home frozen meals are prepared in one of two different ways:
- Sauce Only, which is designed to be defrosted, heated and served with your home-prepared bases (such as quinoa or zucchini noodles). This Sauce size is suitable for 2 serves.
- Single Meal – which is our sauce plus your choice of base – ie Chicken Cacciatore with Basmati Rice or Cauliflower Rice, which is ready to be defrosted and then heated for one person.
Are all of Saucery’s ingredients certified organic?
The short answer is no, however… we select meats that are all high welfare, grass-fed, free range & locally grown. Whilst our meats are not certified organic, 95% of our other ingredients are certified organic.
How can I order Saucery meals for my family?
The most cost-effective way to order for a larger household is to purchase our Sauce Only portions - which are 400g each - and are therefore suitable for 2 people when served with rice, pasta etc which you can prepare at home.
How do I heat my meals?
Once defrosted, meals can be heated by simply pouring the defrosted contents of the pack into a saucepan or deep fry pan and stirring occasionally over medium heat for 6-8 minutes.
If you are a Microwave user, you can remove the cardboard sleeve from the meal, pierce the clear lid 3-4 times with a fork and microwave on high for 4 minutes if defrosted and for 8 minutes if the meal is frozen. Check to see if it needs further heating.
*These instructions are based on an 1100w microwave.
What kind of packaging does Saucery use?
Unlike most other food brands, we don’t use gases, preservatives or modified atmospheres in the packaging of our frozen or ready-to-eat meals. All our packaging is made from the latest environmentally friendly materials.
We use low-carbon HALOPACK® packaging for our frozen and ready-to-eat meals and we independently offset any carbon emissions to make all our packaging and marketing carbon-neutral.
HALOPACK® contains 92% less plastic than traditional takeaway food packaging and is BPA free. Made from 100% sustainable cardboard (recycled and FSC certified board), it contains no additives like PE-coatings, lime or adhesives. HALOPACK® keeps fresh food hygienic, retaining its original flavour and nutritional qualities.
We use multi-use glass bottles or jars for all our beverages.
For our Donuts, we use cardboard donut trays and lids made by Greenmark using wood sourced from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approved forests. Greenmark meets the FSC’s rigorous best practice standards that ensure forests remain healthy and are farmed sustainably.
The lids also contain bio based clear plastic made from Ingeo™ brand PLA, a corn product that ensures an annually renewable resource. PLA production generates fewer greenhouse gas emissions when compared to conventional plastic production. Both the trays and lids used in our donut packaging are compostable.
Whilst we used to be able to take back our delivery boxes, woollen liners and ice packs, this service is currently on hold due to Covid 19.
Can Saucery supply NDIS clients?
Yes we can supply NDIS clients who are either self managed or plan managed. Our cost breakdown is 30% ingredients and 70% preparation. Delivery fees are also to be paid by NDIS, not by the client.
If you would like to register for our NDIS meals, please complete the form on our website.
